Plan for approximately one hour. After your blood is drawn, our in-office lab equipment processes and analyzes your sample – this takes about 30 minutes. Once your results are ready, you’ll meet one-on-one with our hormone specialist to review your testosterone level, discuss what it means, and explore your options if treatment is appropriate. That consultation typically takes another 30 minutes.
Testosterone levels are naturally highest in the morning, so we recommend booking an early appointment when possible for the most accurate baseline reading. We also suggest avoiding vigorous exercise the day before your visit. No fasting required – just show up.
Not at all. Testosterone plays a critical role in women’s health too — affecting energy, mood, libido, weight management, and bone density. In fact, some of our most significant hormone optimization outcomes have been in women in their 40s and 50s experiencing perimenopause or menopause. Both men and women are warmly welcome and will receive a fully personalized evaluation.
Your specialist will review your testosterone level alongside your Hormone IQ assessment and explain what your numbers mean in plain language. If hormone optimization is a good fit, they’ll outline your options clearly and without pressure. There is no obligation to start any program at your appointment or ever.
Hormone optimization therapy is typically not covered by insurance and is provided as an out-of-pocket service. The initial consultation and testosterone test are complimentary with no cost to you, regardless of your insurance status.
