Addiction Test

Do you have an addiction? Take the test below to find out.

There are many common misconceptions about addiction. Using a legal or illegal substance does not automatically mean that you are “addicted”. Addiction usually starts when your life begins to spiral out of control. Addiction doesn’t discriminate. It affects young and old, rich and poor alike. To determine if you may  have an addiction to drugs or alcohol, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you take prescription painkillers for reasons other than pain?
  • Do you “shop around” for different pharmacies or doctors because you need more prescription painkillers, but your own doctor refuses to prescribe more?
  • Do you ever forget important information, black out, pass out, or can’t remember what you did after you took drugs?
  • Do you need more of the same drug today to get the same effect that you got when you started taking it?
  • Do you use more than one drug at a time, or drink alcohol and take drugs at the same time?
  • Have you lost friends because of your drug or alcohol habits?
  • Have you ever been in trouble at work, at school or with the law because of drugs or alcohol?
  • Do you take unusual risks while using drugs or alcohol?
  • Are friends or family members saying they’re worried about your drug or alcohol use?
  • Have you had a medical problems because of drugs or alcohol use, such as nosebleeds, an unusual infection or others?
  • Do you feel sick if you don’t take drugs or have a drink each day?
  • Are you worried about your drug or alcohol use?

If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, you may be addicted to drugs or alcohol. To further determine if you may have an addiction, take the addiction quiz below, and talk to someone at Synergy Recovery Services today about your options for recovery.

Take our brief addiction test to find our if you are addicted or not. The following 10 questions refer to your use of illegal drugs or non-medical use of prescription medications. Please answer every question. If you are unsure about a question or answer, chose the response that is mostly right.
